As we had some questions on what to do with children while families are locked in the homes during hurricane Sandy, I decided to share some of the suggestions posted on our page, along with my personal favorites, hope that helps you keep the kiddos occupied and your sanity in check!
Build a tent with blankets and read some books and have a picnic
Lots of arts and crafts
Baking cookies pastries
Playing hide and seek
Playing games by candle light, if you lost power
Book Speed Reading – one of my favs- pick a couple books on your child’s level and take turns reading with a timer and see who reads more pages in 30s.
Sing-a-long – If you have power, log to youtube and find some singalong with songs your family knows and do it on the computer, or if you have a smart tv, on your tv!
Cooking with the Kiddos – I love doing that with my son, I just baked some cookies and he decorated them, not looking so good to put on the blog, but great activity! 🙂
Hope you enjoyed reading our suggestions!
